Many of the terms, limiting conditions, assumptions, and disclaimers in our appraisal reports are there for a reason—and sometimes there’s quite a story behind how they got there.

Join us for an interactive open forum where we’ll compare the language we use in our appraisal reports and, more importantly, talk about why we use it. Attendees are encouraged to bring a few of their favorite, most useful—or most hard-earned—terms and conditions to share with the group.

We’ll discuss unusual assignments, lessons learned, situations we’d rather not repeat, and the report language that resulted from them. Whether you have a clause that has served you well for years or you simply want to see what other appraisers are doing, come ready to share, compare, ask questions, and perhaps leave with a few new ideas for your own reports.

Meet the Moderator

Doris Toronyi is a Senior Appraiser with Maynards and currently serves as President of the Association of Machinery and Equipment Appraisers (AMEA). Her appraisal experience spans a wide variety of industries, equipment types, and assignment situations—which means she has accumulated a few “lessons learned, language added” examples of her own.

Doris believes some of the best professional education comes from appraisers sharing their experiences with one another. She’ll moderate the discussion, contribute examples from her own work, and encourage attendees to share the report language—and the lessons behind it—that they’ve picked up along the way.
