There were over 150 attendees who participated in a wide variety of programs, seminars and special events.

The Convention kicked off with a Pickle Ball Tournament between MDNA Members, guests, and their families. Congratulations to Brad Wilson of Alternative Machine Tool LLC and Trevor Lundvick, son of Past President Joe Lundvick, for their championship play.  It is always intense when MDNA Members compete, whether over machinery or in sports, and this event did not disappoint.

This year’s events, educational offerings, and programs included a wonderful history lesson on the MDNA, moderated by MDNA Past President John Conroy, of Machinery International Corp.  This trip through the MDNA’s beginnings and rich past included panel members: former MDNA Member Mark Rogo of Morton Machinery Co. Inc., Tom Scanlan of Surplus Record and MDNA Past President Kim Khoury of Action Machinery Co. Inc.

The second of three Friday morning programs focused on 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing.   We learned about the history of 3-D Printing, the origins and how these first machines were used.  Even more importantly, attendees learned about current types of machinery, what machines are selling now, and the potential used market.  There was even a functioning 3-D Printer on hand for demonstration purposes.

Our Friday Key Note Speaker was Cyber Security expert, Scott Beck.   This program was the direct result of requests from our members.  Cybercrime is at an all-time high and every month it’s breaking new records.  Topics included; 12 Critical IT Security Protections Every Business Must Have In Place Now To Avoid Cyber-Attacks, Data Breach Lawsuits, Bank Fraud, and Compliance Penalties, Cyber Security Made Simple, The Basics Of What You Need To Know To Avoid An Embarrassing and Expensive Breach, Innovation Lessons from The Criminal Underground, 3 Types of Cyber Security You Must Have In Today’s Connected World, and The Evolution of Crime, Why Cyber Crime Incidents Now outnumber Physical Crimes.

Educational Programming concluded on Saturday with a program conducted by the Association of Machinery and Equipment Appraisers.   It was light, entertaining, competitive; and, as always, educational.
